Allen was originally scheduled to compete this past weekend at UFC Vegas 13 but his opponent Ian Heinisch was forced off the card after testing positive for COVID-19. It’s the second time a fight between Allen and Heinisch has been scrapped.

Without an option to face a replacement opponent, Allen was pulled from the card but now he’ll get the chance to make the quick turnaround to fight on Saturday night instead.

As for Strickland, he just made his return to action in late October where he picked up a decisive win over Jack Marshman in his first fight back in over two years. Strickland was sidelined following a horrific motorcycle accident that could have ended his career but he eventually made his way back to the UFC.

Now, Strickland will face off with Allen at 195 pounds due to the short notice meeting on Saturday night’s card, which also got a new main event when veteran lightweight Paul Felder, who previously was scheduled to commentate, stepped in to face ex-champ Rafael dos Anjos.
