Foreign Fighters Spice Up BRAWL Bacolod’s Return

The main event features a lightweight showdown between Rio de Janeiro’s Afonso Cego and local bet, 6100 Martial Arts and Fitness’ Miguel Mosquera. Cego, a Brazilian Luta Livre black belt, started his career in Brazil and now represents Catalan Fighting System. He is coming off a failed URCC title bid and is eager to bounce back.

Mosquera, on the other hand, is a PXC and URCC veteran looking to perform in front of his home crowd. Not one to back down from a submission specialist like Cego, Mosquera is no slouch on the ground either, having won gold at the prestigious Pan Asians BJJ Tournament. He holds notable victories over Angelito Manguray and Steve Grandeza, and has engaged in hard-fought matches with UFC bantamweight Rolando Dy and former URCC feathweight king, Red Romero.

In the co-headliner, another 6100 standout and one of Bacolod’s well-rounded young prospects, Mark “The Shark” Nimanad is pitted against the more experienced and former Muay Thai national team member, Rio “Pitbull” Saoy of Mactan Combat Sports.

Another bout to watch out for is that of Marco Birch and Intoy “Pretty Boy” Paltingca at a catchweight of 160 lbs. After a good start to his amateur career fighting in his native of Denmark, Birch now calls Boracay home and trains at the famed Legacy Gym. His opponent, Paltingca of Clint Besario Training Camp in Dumaguete, is a dangerous fighter who knows how to use his length, may it be on the ground or standing up.

A total of 11 gyms will be represented in this highly anticipated event, which launched the career of Filipino UFC fighter Jenel Lausa. Other notable fighters who have seen action in this league are Will Chope, Alvin Ramirez, Rex de Lara, and Philip Delarmino.

Tiger Black BRAWL will take place on January 19 at Functional Hall 3 of the SMX Convention Center in SM City Bacolod. For tickets, message them on Facebook or contact 0928-5423435 or 0966-8678474.
